Body Building Tip of the Day from emazing
Constant Tension As a body builder you are aware of the importance of intensity in regards to training. A well-known and very effective technique for maximizing intensity is to keep the targeted muscle under constant tension throughout each set. In order to maintain constant or continuous tension, you need to be aware of the range of motion for the particular exercise you are performing. On most exercises, it is a matter of not locking out during extension and limiting the degree of flexion. While this may sound simple, it requires deep concentration and mental drive to work through the intensity. - Aaron Harris

Choosing Dumbbells or Barbells
There's often a lot of debate over whether machines or free weights are better for body builders. Well, what about dumbbells or barbells? Depending on the body part, there can be advantages of one over the other. For certain exercises like the chest press, a barbell will limit the range that the muscle can contract because of the fixed hand position, so dumbbells would be a better choice. But on the other hand, dumbbells are not superior in exercises like squats, where a fixed hand position does not affect the contracting range of motion. In these, barbells could have the advantage because grip strength will not be a limiting factor. Most lower body exercises won't benefit from using dumbbells over barbells. Upper body exercises can be made more effective by using dumbbells because of the increased range of motion and the symmetrical strength demand they require. - Aaron Harris

Cook Less
A good diet needs to be planned out in advance in order to be effective. You can reduce the number of calories you eat by preparing only the amount of food that you should consume. If you will be dining alone, cook quantities suitable for one person, not two or three. Prepare only enough for one serving and stick to your plan. You can't help yourself to seconds if there aren't any. - Aaron Harris

Dieting Made Simple
A sound nutrition program should not be too complicated or time consuming. Keep your diet plan--as well as the ingredients and amount of processing involved in your food selections--simple. Simple items include basic vegetables, fruit, whole grains, and lean proteins that will keep you fueled, satisfied, and are easy to prepare. The least processed foods maintain the most nutrients and generally have fewer bad fats. Aaron Harris
